South Texas Shootout Basketball Tournament

The Young Men’s Business League (YMBL), in partnership with the Beaumont Independent School District, announce the 72nd year of hosting outstanding high school basketball teams to compete in the South Texas Shootout Basketball Tournament scheduled for the West Brook and United High School Gyms in Beaumont. These venues will play host to boy’s basketball teams from the Beaumont area as well as across Texas and Louisiana.

Originally called the YMBL Cage Tournament, the first tournament was held in 1952 and has grown to become one of the premier high school basketball showcase events in Southeast Texas. The South Texas Shootout has played host to many of the top programs. Numerous student athletes have competed here before going on to highly successful college and professional careers.

The tournament has been recognized as one of the top high school tournaments in the country. The South Texas Shootout tournament is the third oldest continuing project of the YMBL.
