SOUTH TEXAS STATE FAIR

Gate and Security Policies

To continue providing a safe environment for the public and significantly expedite fairgoers' entry into the fairgrounds the South Texas State Fair has implemented a policy that limits the size of bags that may be brought into the Fair. Exceptions to this policy will be made for medical bags and parenting bags after proper inspection. We want our guests to have a great time at the Fair & Rodeo. We also expect you to respect our home.

The following outlines bags that are permitted: All permitted bags are subject to search.

Clear Bags are allowed but can NOT be larger than 12”x12”x6”. Clear small clutch bags are allowed but can NOT be larger than 4.5”X6.5”. Exceptions to this policy include those bags carried for medical reasons or manufactured diaper bags that accompany infants and young children and will be subject to search. Baby strollers/wagons are allowed on the grounds.

Guests should allow additional time at entry gates, as these security measures will be in place as they arrive at the event.

How will the South Texas State Fair enforce this new policy?

The South Texas State Fair is working diligently with its security partners to plan for the implementation of this policy. Security team members will receive ample training to enforce this new policy.
